I am a creative producer and graduate from the UCC MA in Arts Management and Creative Producing. I specialise in producing events and festivals in theatre, visual arts, multidisciplinary arts and more, with a focus on arts communications and marketing.
I am one of the producers and co-organisers of the Cork Zine Fest, organising a yearly festival and some workshops through the year, and have worked on a range of performances and projects over the past years, including Terpsichore (producer, in development, Elaine Desmond & Kevin Hayes 2024-2025), the Culture Night buses (co-producer, Cork Culture Night 2023), (Un)Holy Blood (assistant producer, Lidjia Sola & Sadhbh Moriarty 2023). I also worked with the Cork Midsummer Festival and co-produced the Wonderism festival and the event "Behind the Curtain" in Cork Opera House during my MA.

Karen Aguiar is a socially engaged artist, performer and producer who believes in the transformative power of dance to unite people and nurture collective spaces. As the founder and creative director of Go Dance For Change, a producing platform for intercultural collaboration, Karen envisions dance as a means of meaningful integration, individual growth, and collective action.
She has been building community and producing dance & performance in Ireland since 2018. She is also a recipient of the Artist in the Community Scheme Bursary Award: Collaborative Arts and Dance funded by the Irish Arts Council, managed by Create in partnership with Dance Ireland. With a postgraduate study in Art & Ecology at NCAD and a dance residency at Rua Red South Dublin Arts Centre, Karen's movement practice incorporates embodied ecologies, knowledge, activism, culture, and play.
As a dancer, producer and director of the platform, Karen collaborated with many dance artists since 2018 working to establish herself as a producer in Ireland as well supporting her peers. She also worked with The Five Lamps Arts Festival, UCD Festival, South Dublin County Council, Just City Collective, Sim Simma, IMMA, Concern Worldwide, Mother Tongues, Tallaght Community Arts, MASI, Dignity Partnership, Stand Festival, Dublin City Council, NEIC, Friends of the Earth Ireland and more.
